BACTA, along with the rest of the British gambling industry has declared Monday 19th October as Responsible Gambling Awareness Day to coincide with GamCare’s annual conference.
Responsible Gambling Awareness Day is about reminding everyone involved, especially customers, about the need to gamble responsibly; to showcase the industry’s ongoing efforts in this area and to do our best to ensure that we keep our gambling safe and enjoyable.
Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister for Sport, said, “I am really pleased that the industry is holding a Responsible Gambling Awareness Day. This is a fantastic idea and shows how the industry is taking initiative to promote responsible gambling.”
We have deliberately avoided being overly prescriptive in terms of what is expected of members, but it would be disappointing if any member could not find some practical way of supporting the event. A poster which you can print out can be downloaded by clicking the link below and make sure that all your machines have GamCare stickers, that you have “stay in control” leaflets and posters available and that your staff are aware of the day.
On the day BACTA will be taking part in a panel discussion at the GamCare conference highlighting the social responsibility measures BACTA members have been involved with.
